Sample Blinds Structure and game format for a Poker Night Tournament

If you are thinking of hosting your own poker tournament at home or making use of a hired poker table within a casino it is important to know how the 'blinds' affect the game and what kind of structure you will be using. If you are hosting players that are new to the game then you may have to explain the blind requirements to them so it's imperative that you know your structure well in advance.

Poker Dealer: Live or Electronic?

The debate continues. Once upon a time, every casino, small and large, needed poker dealers and croupiers for every poker game, event, and open poker tournament. Today, many race track poker rooms and other smaller casinos are putting the electronic poker dealer to work. This computerized dealer appears to save money for a poker room while allowing the poker players to play more hands. To many it seems like the fiscal solution for the future of live poker. Is it really though?

What happens when a dealer flips over a card by accident?

As a poker dealer you are striving to meet timing, watch players, attend to their responses and update the pot totals, move the button, and then you have to deal the cards. Some days things are perfect, every hand, every player, and every card. Some days you can’t believe you are actually standing across the table passing cards. Then there are also the wonderful days in between. Those are the days you have a moment to breath, and turn around the next hand, and the next game. Let’s discuss some minor things that surface during a game, and how to address them.

How much do you tip your poker dealer?

Tipping is a crucial part of a poker dealer’s income, but as a poker player, how often should you personally contribute? That is a subject every poker player faces every time they sit down at a casino or a live poker event. There are many theories on the subject, some involve your poker strategy, and others are fiscal. Let’s get started.

How much do poker dealers make in Las Vegas

In Las Vegas, Nevada, poker is king and sex is queen. Together they make the lights and excitement that everyone loves in this incredible city. If you live there, you are offered unique opportunities that are not available anywhere else in the United States of America. This includes the opportunity to train and work as a poker dealer at some of the largest most incredible casinos. You also have the opportunity to touch fame, as major celebrities often frequent the city and the poker tables.

The Worlds Best Paid Poker Dealer Jobs

Poker is one of the most exciting games available anywhere, and one of the richest too. It's not uncommon to hear about modern day poker combatants such as Tom Dwan or Phil Ivey clearing pots worth literally hundreds of thousands of dollars.

But what about the guys running the scene? What about the faceless dealers that you always overlook at the top tables? This post looks at where some of the top earning dealer jobs in the poker industry are.

Things that Irritate Poker Dealers

After your first night dealing you realize you’re in for some interesting experiences. Some of them will be very nice, like the good looking female poker player hitting on you during shift. Others won’t be so nice, or so tolerable. In this article you are going to learn 3 of the most common issues to arise at the tables that will annoy you, upset you and maybe even disgust you. The benefit of knowing it going into your day is that you will be better able to handle each situation as it arises.

How Dealers Should Handle Abusive Poker Players

As a poker dealer you play several roles at the table. The most obvious is that you hand the cards, in the correct order to the players participating in the game. You clarify the rules as need be and manage the pot. However, as you have learned, you are also security and customer relations. Both positions allow you to be subject to unpredictable behaviors, and at times belligerent poker players.

Top Poker Professionals Who Started Out As Poker Dealers

Either you can be a poker player or a dealer, not both, is what the popular notion dictates. Most poker dealers tend to be bad at the game itself. You might wonder why this is so, considering that close to 40 hours a week are spent watching and dealing cards!

Do Poker Dealers Make Good Poker Players

Do all dealers have an ace up their sleeves? Think about the last time you were in a casino and sat at a card table enjoying a game of poker or black jack. You were no doubt impressed by the skill of the dealer and perhaps you even stopped to wonder how long it took them to learn their trade. The manner in which they shuffle, juggle and throw cards around is sometimes quite astonishing and there is little doubt that hours have been spent in perfecting their skill.

How to become a qualified poker dealer in the US

In the United States, a professional poker dealer has many career opportunities. A dozen states have commercial casinos, more than two dozen states have Indian casinos, and the gambling industry is rapidly growing. For many, the career of a professional poker dealer is an attractive option that provides an exciting work environment, flexible schedule, and minimal educational investment.

Profile Tips to Increase the Amount of Enquiries you get from Dial a Dealer

We are beginning to attract some qualified customers to Dial a Dealer and there has been some good enquiries made to dealers over the last few weeks. However, we can only see the email enquires that go through and it is difficult, if not impossible to track when a customer actually calls a dealer's contact telephone number. Looking at the emails that customers have sent to dealers, we have enough information to make  some assumptions and to be able to offer the following tips:

Blackjack Cheats

Here is something I came across just now - Watch out for cheaters and card counters at the next charity casino or fun casino event that you deal. There are cheaters around every corner, so keep your eyes open for anybody with an iPhone at the blackjack table as they accumulate wads of fun money ;0)

Attention Dealers: Our Six Month Free Trial Offer ends this Friday (20th Feb) at 2pm (GMT)

Dealer Search function needs a change!

We have noticed there our current Dealer search tool needs some updating. The problem lies in the fact that unless a customer types in a dealers exact location, the dealer will not show up in searches. We are in the process of building is an “approximate search function”. With this new function, when a customers types in an exact location (such as postcode or zip code), all dealers will show up within a 50 mile radius of the location he typed in.

List on Dial a Dealer - No Lose, Zero Risk

We have been receiving a few emails since we launched a few weeks ago. A major topic of concern was whether dealers could afford the monthly subscription of $15 (£10) a month. Some people expressed doubt and fear that they would lose money.

We set up Dial a Dealer for the long term and not to make a quick buck. That is why we want Dial a Dealer to be a zero risk opportunity for every dealer or casino events company that signs up.

Signs of activity on Dial a Dealer

There has been a small uptake in activity on Dial a Dealer over the last few days. Through our tracking we have observed that there has been a few enquires to dealers. All very positive stuff, and we hope the chosen dealers can nail down a few jobs. It’s still early days, but it is encouraging to see the site being used by customers to find dealers.

Site Updates Coming Soon

Hi Guys, Now that we have sorted out most of the bugs and teething problems that our initial launch caused, it's time to get down to the serious work. What are we up to at the moment? Well as you can see, we have started work on the blog. After not have written anything in years, it was pretty worrying to find out how much my creative writing had deteriorated. So please be patient while I get up to speed and hopefully start producing higher quality articles. The aim is to make at least one post a day, so stay tuned.
