Fun Casino and Casino Night Prizes

"What do points make..?", that's right, "Prizes"! Or, in the case of a fun casino night, 'fake money and plastic chips', accumulated, mean winning a prize! However, whilst it is perfectly legal to hold a 'for fun' casino night, or a charity fund raising casino night, there are some rules, regulations and stipulations which must be adhered to, regarding real money, money raised, expenses and prizes. It is advised that you browse the Gaming Commission website, especially the FAQ section, for full legal terms and conditions regarding running a 'for fun' or charity, casino event. However, a quick guide to do's and don'ts include:

Cash Prizes

Technically, you are not allowed to offer a cash prize for a fun casino night. Although you can offer cash prizes at charity casino events, the prizes should not be seen as the reason persons entered or participated in the event. It is for this reason that it advisable to keep prizes relative to the venue. A good guide for charity events is to split the profits at a ratio of 25:25:50. So, if you charged £100 per ticket to attend the charity casino night, 25% would go towards 'prizes', 25% towards covering costs, and 50% to the charitable fund. Remember that the goal is to raise as much money as possible for your chosen charity! So, bearing this in mind do not forget to 'sell' fake casino money (which can be exchanged for chips) throughout the night to raise additional cash for your charitable cause.

Popular Charity Casino Night Prizes

These prices can vary and may include, champagne, box of wine, all expenses paid day trips (Spa's, health club day, hot air balloon ride, etc.). For larger venues (or more expensive entry tickets) prizes can be more extravagant (however, remember to remain relative to entry costs and venue), ideas include; Plasma TV, Laptop, all expenses paid holidays, flights, weekend break in a hotel, Ipod, latest mobile phone, Xbox 360 or Ds Lite.

Corporate Party Prizes

At corporate parties where participants usually do not expect to pay and the host is expected to foot bill(birthday/Anniversary/wedding/stag/hen casino nights), consider offering trophies, medals or certificates as prizes along side small token items. For events that involve comradeship and workmates it is often the prestige of winning, rather than the prize itself, that will make it a night to remember – and what is is more prestigious than an engraved cup or trophy? Although casino equipment can cost a bit to rent out, just hiring a croupier or poker dealer is not so expensive. In fact, prices can start from as little as £25 per hour. So, an idea for one of the prizes may be the services of a personal croupier or Poker dealer to host a home poker night! There are a vast amount of professional Poker dealers available for hire, and as most have online profiles, it is possible to view their customer feedback, photos and bio's, before make a booking.
